# Woocommerce Setup Instructions

## Register or Login to Swell Account

You can create a Swell account by visiting <https://app.swellrewards.com/register>

You should select Woocommerce from the Ecommerce Platform dropdown and then fill out the rest of the information.  After registering you will be taken through a quick onboarding process.

As part of this onboarding flow you will setup some of the core components of your loyalty and referral program.  This includes ways your customers can earn points and ways they can redeem those points.  Don't worry though, you can always make changes after the onboarding process is completed.

After onboarding you will be redirected to the Swell Admin.  Once there go to the Settings page as you will need your API Key and GUID to setup the Woocommerce extension.

## Download and Install Woocommerce Plugin

You will need to [download the latest Woocommerce plugin](https://s3.amazonaws.com/swellrewards.com/plugins/swell-woocommerce-latest.zip) and then upload the zip file to your Wordpress admin. In your admin you should see the "Add New" option under the "Plugins" sidebar navigation item.  Once there you will see an "Upload Plugin" option at the top of the page.

Once you click the "Upload Plugin" button a new menu will slide down.  You want to click the "Choose File" button and navigate to the swell-woocommerce-latest.zip file you downloaded earlier.

Once selected click the "Install Now" button to continue.  Once installed, you will be taken to a screen similar to the one below where you can choose to "Activate Plugin".  Go ahead and activate the plugin, don't worry though, nothing will show up on your site just yet.<br>

Once the plugin is activated,  navigate to the Settings->General menu item.  If you scroll down you should see two new fields under the Swell Setup heading (API Key and GUID).  You will want to copy and paste the API Key and GUID from your Swell Admin /settings page into these boxes.  This is how we will connect your Swell account to your Woocommerce server.<br>

After you have successfully clicked "Save Changes" you will see a new menu item appear in your WooCommerce sidebar navigation.  There should be a link that says "Authenticate Swell".  Clicking this will allow you to give Swell access to your Woocommerce API.  Swell needs access to the API so that it can read order and customer data to award points and then create new coupon codes for your customers to use when they redeem.

After you click the "Authenticate Swell" link it will take you to a standard authentication page for you to approve the access.  Please click the large Approve button to continue setup.

After you approve access you will be taken back to your WooCommerce admin.  If you refresh the page you should see that the "Authenticate Swell" link has changed to a "Swell Admin" link.  Sometimes it takes a few minutes for this to update so if you don't see it immediately please wait a few minutes and then refresh the page again.  If you see this link that means everything is setup successfully and you can now use this link to get into your Swell Admin whenever you need to manage your rewards and referral program.<br>
